Session 4 - Section B: An Exercise - Preparing To Tune In
In this section, we are going to do a relaxation/meditation exercise to still the mind of all the 'chatter', open up your chakras, and connect you in to the universal energy source, so that you may receive your messages more clearly.
You can read through the exercise, or if you prefer, you can record yourself reading it out, and use the recording.
Breathing and Relaxing Exercise
Relax. Breathe in slowly and deeply, filling your lungs. Hold at the top of the breath, then slowly breathe out.
Take another slow, deep breath in. Hold, then slowly breathe out, emptying your lungs completely.
Take a third slow, deep breath in. Hold, then slowly breathe out. Continue breathing, concentrating on your breathing. On each breath, imagine breathing in pure, white, healing light. As you hold each breath at the top, imagine the pure white energy rolling through your body, down your limbs, through your organs, gathering up all the tension and negativity into a big dark cloud. As you breathe out, imagine breathing out all the grey, dark energy. With each out breath, the grey, dark energy will become lighter and lighter, as you breathe out all the tension and negativity that you hold in your body, until the out breath becomes as pure and white as the energy you breathe in.
Now, as you breathe in, tense the muscles in your scalp and face. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. This time tense the muscles in your neck and shoulders. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. This time tense the muscles in your arms and hands. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. This time tense the muscles in your back and chest. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. This time tense the muscles in your buttocks, thighs and calf muscles. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. This time tense the muscles in your feet and ankles. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax the tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.
Take another breath in. Hold tight, then slowly breathe out and relax any other tension, feeling it drain away as you breathe out.

Now move your attention to the end of your spine, to your base chakra. Visualise the colour red (think of a fire engine or stop sign or red traffic light or a red apple or something that you have that is bright red, to bring the colour to mind). Visualise the red light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant red. Soak up this brilliant red energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to the area half way between your pubic bone and your belly-button, to your sacral chakra. Visualise the colour orange (think of an orange or some worker-man's flouro orange safety gear, or something that you have that is bright orange). Visualise the orange light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant orange. Soak up this brilliant orange energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to your solar plexus, to your navel chakra. Visualise the colour yellow (think of a banana or a lemon or a child's bath-toy duck, or something that you have that is bright yellow). Visualise the yellow light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant yellow. Soak up this brilliant yellow energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to your heart area, to your heart chakra. Visualise the colour green (think of a frog or a leaf or a green traffic light, or something that you have that is bright green). Visualise the green light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant green. Soak up this brilliant green energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to the middle of your throat, to your throat chakra. Visualise the colour blue (think of a blue sky, or a sapphire, or a blue pen, or something that you have that is bright blue). Visualise the blue light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant blue. Soak up this brilliant blue energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to the middle of your brow, to your brow chakra. Visualise the colour indigo (think of an iris or hyacinth flower, or an amethyst crystal, or an eggplant, or something that you have that is bright purple (indigo). Visualise the indigo light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant indigo. Soak up this brilliant indigo energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Now move your attention to the top of your head, to your crown chakra. Visualise the colour violet (think of an African violet flower, or a lavender or Gladiolus flower, or something that you have that is a vivid violet (deep purple). Visualise the violet light becoming more and more vibrant until it is a brilliant, bright, glorious vibrant violet. Soak up this brilliant violet energy, breathe it in, and bathe in it's magnificence.
Good. By now you should be feeling quite relaxed, your mind still, and your chakras open, ready to start receiving messages from your inner voice

Now you have an understanding of the workings of the human mind, know who you will be talking to, know how the messages will come, and how you will hear the messages, now we are finally at the session where you actually get to have an in-depth, deep and meaningful conversation with your inner voice!
